Palisade Fencing
Steel palisade remains the default hard perimeter for yards, depots and industrial units because it resists attack with hand tools far better than mesh and reads as a deterrent from the road. The detail that matters is the pale: profile, height, gauge and top finish decide both how hard the fence is to defeat and how it looks to a neighbour or a planning officer. We specify all of it in writing before anyone digs.

What's included
- W-section pales for maximum rigidity on high-risk yards and depots
- D-section pales where a lighter, cleaner line suits car parks and school boundaries
- Heights from 1.8m to 3.0m, with 2.4m the common commercial standard
- Triple-point, round-top and notched-top pale finishes
- Bolted or riveted rails, concrete-set posts, and matched single or double-leaf gates
- £5m public liability and £10m employers liability, CSCS-carded fitters, RAMS before mobilisation
Our process
- 01
Site survey
Perimeter measured, ground conditions checked, gate and vehicle swept paths agreed on site.
- 02
Pale specification
Profile, height, gauge and top finish chosen against the actual risk, then written into the quote.
- 03
Mobilisation
RAMS, insurance certificates and site inductions issued before the first delivery.
- 04
Post setting
Posts set plumb in concrete, hand-dug where services run close, and left to cure before rails go on.
- 05
Pales and gates
Rails bolted, pales fixed, gates hung and swing-tested, then a full walk-round handover with you.

Why us
30+ years on the tools across Surrey & Hampshire. Family-run, fully insured, no subcontracted crews.
Local factors we plan around
- builders merchants and plant yards around Aldershot and Farnborough where W-section palisade is the insurer-friendly line
- industrial units backing onto footpaths where a road-facing palisade run deters access before CCTV ever gets involved
- sites with buried services where post holes are hand-dug rather than augered
- sloping perimeters where palisade steps cleanly bay by bay instead of raking
- school and car park boundaries that need a round-top pale rather than a triple-point finish
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between W-section and D-section pales?
- W-section pales are corrugated across their width, which makes them far stiffer and much harder to bend or lever. D-section pales are rounded and lighter, cheaper per metre and easier on the eye. Yards, depots and substations get W-section; car parks and softer boundaries usually take D-section.
- Which top finish should we specify?
- Triple-point is the standard deterrent top for industrial perimeters. Round-top is used where the public, and particularly children, are close to the line, such as schools and car parks. Notched-top sits between the two.
- Palisade or weld mesh?
- Palisade is stronger against forced entry with tools and is harder to cut quietly. Weld mesh, especially 358 panels, resists climbing better, gives clear sightlines for CCTV and looks less severe. Plenty of sites use palisade on the road frontage and mesh where cameras need to see through.
- How long does an install take?
- A straightforward 100m run with one gate is usually three to five working days including cure time on the post foundations. Larger perimeters with automation run to two or three weeks.
- Can you work on a live commercial site?
- Yes. We phase the run so no section is left open overnight, keep vehicle access working, and take evening or weekend slots where daytime work would stop your operation.
- What does palisade fencing cost?
- Most commercial palisade runs land between £110 and £190 per metre fitted depending on height, pale profile and ground conditions. Gates are quoted separately.
